I run in circles.
A lot.
I run out of the house in some direction, and come back the other way. Just running 5 miles east, and then coming back the same way, gives me a feeling of 'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt to prove it.'
The drawback of running circles
The drawback of running in circles is ending up where your started. And even though yóu know you've run a lot of miles, how do you prove it? Who's to say you never really went anywhere, and sat on a park bench the whole time?!
The same thing applies to your work as a mom
Sadly the same thing applies to your work as a mom. You do the laundry, cook the meals, do the school run, and at the end of the day you're back where you began. The laundry has miraculously grown back, you'll have to do the school run all over again and the kids are hungry again.
You end up where you started.
Going places
That's why whenever I get the opportunity, I hitch a ride with my husband. On Saturday he likes to go to the supermarket. And I always make sure to tag along. Halfway there, I jump out of the car and run home. It gives me the opportunity to run in a straight line instead of a circle.
On Saturday I'm going places!
