Fitjacking: what's that when it's at home?

fitjacking
Anonymous Fitjacker!
Have you ever heard of fitjacking?

I hadn't, until I read an article about it in Runner's World.

Fitjacking: what is it?

Fitjacking is the art of going into a running store, asking for advice for the best running shoes, and then saying to the shoeguy: 'Thanks! I'm going to have to think about it.' After which you go home, and buy the recommended shoes online.

That's not very nice, now is it?! I'm happy to say I am not a fitjacker. It just wouldn't feel right. In a way you're stealing someone's time and advice.

How do you feel about fitjacking?

interesting! never heard this term before. Yes that would be kind of mean to do to the sales person. :(

I have never heard the term before either.
However I must admit I have done this. That being said I did end up going back and getting the shoes I wanted.
I think there is a time a place to do it, esp if you know you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
