Of course we've got 'the girls' to take care off, although I feel very strongly that guys who have 'girls' should NOT go topless!
Can I take off my tank top?
Anyway, this morning I was running, and I was really hot, and I wondered: shall I take off my tanktop, and run in my purple sports bra? And I'm not the only one, wondering about running in just a bra. Lisa wondered the same thing in A summer dilemma: shirt or no shirt?Modesty prevailed
Unfortunately (false?) modesty got the better off me, and I held on to my tank top. But I'm not happy about it! And I'm sitting here, feeling bummed out, wondering if people would even notice me running around in my bra.So, do you go out for a run in your sports bra?
And if so, is it recognizable as a bra? Does the design, or color matter, for you to run in your bra?

good question...I run in my sports bra at home on the treadmill, but hadn't run outside in it until yesterday, when after 11 miles my underarm was starting to chafe. Since I was two miles form home, it wasn't too bad. I think it just takes a couple times to get over the initial shock of doing it.
I haven't been able to do that in about 2 decades. I have needed 2 heavy-duty running bras. I did just buy a bra that may be the ticket to being able to do this... but I have a feeling that I'd need to be pretty dang hot to have the nerve to strip down! I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing to do :)
I wear a shirt when i run. It sucks at times, like all summer long. The mommy pooch and my self-conscience self will not let me go shirtless.
I have no prb with people do that. I just don't like my after 5 kids tummy to do it!
I agree with the above...I don't have a problem with it, but after having the kiddo my tummy area is not up for stripping down ;o)
This is interesting! Sounds like our vanity keeps us from exposing our upper bodies to the public! Isn't it funny how guys usually don't have this problem?
They have no compunction showing off their man boobs…
But I hear you! If I had a six pack tummy, it would probably be easier for me too, to run in only a sports bra.
Suzy, I love the expression 'mommy pooch'. I didn't know that one!
Can't go shirtless for the tummy factor, plus I just feel too naked!!
I live in the land of eternal sun...and summer heat...I run in an athleta sports bra but wear shorts with a fold over top to cover the mommy pooch.
