I've bought one of those fancy running skirts on eBay. I thought: 'What the heck! I always wear skirts so why not while I'm running!'
But now that I've got my very own running skirt I feel great trepidation wearing it. Besides the obvious worries about exposing more thigh than I'ld like, a running skirt seems to be saying: 'Look at me! I'm a serious runner. I didn't just throw on some old sweatpants and a ratty old t-shirt, I actually bought running gear.'
It made me realize that I dress wáy down when I go out for a run. The more stupid I look the more comfortable I feel. That way, when I'm running my little heart out at my snail's pace, it's alright, because my clothes say: 'Hey, don't comment on my pace. I'm not to be taken seriously.'
But now my running skirt has upped the ante and I find myself facing a whole new challenge. The challenge of taking myself seriously as a runner!

I hear running skirts are awesome, but I am reluctant to purchase one. I need coverage, but I also have the dreaded "chub rub" and need something that will stay put while I run so my thighs don't chafe. Would love to hear review once you start running in it.
I run in a skirt a lot, but it has little shorts underneath. Does this one? It really looks cute.
It does have shorts underneath. Otherwise they would be too short to go out in public with. I must say: those shorts give a nice feeling of security!
I bought a size 12/14 which fits a bit loose, but as long as they don't drop around my ankles I don't care.
Cute skirt! I hear pretty great things about them, so I hope you love it.
Totally cute skirt. I might have to get one. I say you should wear it. Who cares what anyone thinks!!
Hooray! I can't wear them because, just like short shorts, they ride up my thighs into my crotch, and I'm tugging at it the whole way.
Great post! Other people will take you as seriously as you take yourself. You show them you're serious, and they'll believe it!
I know how you feel. Until recently I always dressed a bit like a slob when running, but there's something encouraging and uplifting about looking cute when you head out the door. Enjoy!!
It's cute, I like the color. It's important to wear comfortable clothes when running or exercising and look good at the same time. ;)
I bought one a couple of weeks ago and haven't worn it yet because I don't dare (how dumb is that) mine in so comfy I just can't bring myself to wear it yet because of the reasons you mentioned
AAAHHH! Thigh burn....
I guess it's the incentive to run more :)
I didn't even know there was such a thing, haha!!!
Never heard of it. Looks very interesting!
Congrats on your new purchase! You gotta look cute when your running, right? ;-)
I tend to chafe when I run long distances in my running skirt, because the shorts underneath ride up. Be sure to spread on LOTS of vaseline or body glide before you run. You may need to even reapply in the middle of your run.
RUN DMT -- or just get the right skirt... there are actually some really great options out there for gals that have chubrub issues. I've had great luck with the one I got from skirtgoddess.com the shorts actually cover my thighs AND stay in place. Some others I've had haven't.
How do you like your running skirt? I love mine. Check out my post: http://www.3sisters7days.com/blog/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=239.
I've never heard of a running skirt! super cute idea, but I would be afraid of it exposing too much too. lol!
I just bought my first one on clearance for under $5 last week, and then felt kinda skanky wearing it bc it shows so much more! haha! But it sure is cute, and I do like the way it wears when I run.
I love the price of your running skirt. That's a great bargain. Even though running skirts are short, they're still very modest. Especially the ones with short tights.
